AIFindTool · local AI file search

Describe it.
Dig it up.

AIFindTool reads the folders you choose: pictures, PDFs, documents, recordings, video, and code. Search with the phrase you remember and it opens the page or the moment. The model runs on your computer. Files are not uploaded.

Not sure which one to pick? Mac: Apple menu > About This Mac. “Chip: Apple M1–M4” means Apple silicon; “Processor: Intel” means Intel. Windows: Settings > System > About, then look at “System type” (x64 or ARM64).

Android (beta): search your SMS and photos →

Search by what's inside, not by the file name you hope you used

Supported file formats

90+ formats: PDF, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, e-books, email, archives, images, audio, video and code. Everything is processed locally; files are never uploaded.

Every file is parsed and indexed on your computer and never uploaded. Password-protected Office files and DRM-protected e-books can't be read.

Files stay on this computer

The index is local. The app goes online to download EmbeddingGemma 2 once, to check AIFindTool's own updates, and — only if you opt in — to send anonymous usage counts. Those counts are launches, searches, and how many files of each type were indexed, plus a random install id and the version. Never file contents, names, paths, or search text.

EmbeddingGemma 2 is from Google DeepMind. Review its terms before commercial use. The app's MIT license does not cover the model.

PandaWM is measuring downloads and anonymous usage to decide whether this is worth offering as a service. Leave an email and we can set up a local or enterprise trial. This is not a newsletter.
