Naver is still the search engine most Koreans use for shopping, local services and product research, so “how to advertise on Naver” is a common question from overseas brands entering Korea. Google shows a clear English advertiser SERP for it: Naver’s own Global Growth Partner page, agency guides on setting up a Naver Search Ads account and articles for overseas companies. This guide is for advertisers. It covers the products, the documents Naver asks for, the Korean-language landing page and how to test the channel without wasting the first month.
What advertisers search for on Google
Source: English-language Google searches run on 6 November 2026. The table lists phrases that appeared in top results written for advertisers, such as how to advertise, opening an ad account, campaign types and cost. These are not Semrush figures, so there is no search volume, KD or CPC. The example column names one page we checked, and rankings change by region and date. Viewer-side searches, such as how to block ads, are not counted as advertiser demand.

Naver Search Ads, Brand Search and GFA
Naver Search Ads (검색광고) is the core product. Power Link text ads appear above organic results when someone searches a keyword, and you pay per click from prepaid Biz Money. Shopping Search ads show products with images and prices inside Naver Shopping, Place ads promote local businesses, and Power Content places blog-style articles in a content ad slot. Brand Search is a separate contract product: a large banner block shown when someone searches your brand name, priced by the period and the brand keyword’s search volume rather than per click.
Naver GFA (Glad for Advertisers) is the display and video side. It covers the Naver main page, news, webtoons, Band and partner apps, with targeting by demographics, interests and remarketing. GFA works best for awareness and retargeting once search has shown which messages convert.
Documents, landing pages and review
Overseas companies can advertise on Naver. You usually need your business registration certificate, often in English or with a Korean translation, and the business details in the account must match the footer of the landing page. Naver reviews the site, keywords and ad text before anything runs, and some categories such as health products, finance and education need extra proof. A machine-translated page is the most common reason foreign campaigns fail. Korean buyers expect prices in won, Korean customer support, delivery and return terms, and a mobile-first layout. Naver also offers official partners for overseas advertisers, which is one reason agencies are common on this channel.
Bids in Power Link start from low amounts per click, but competitive categories cost far more, and ranking also depends on ad quality. Use the Naver keyword tool inside the account to estimate searches and bids for your own terms instead of copying a generic CPC figure.
Open the account yourself or through an agency channel?

If you open the account yourself, your team handles business verification, payment methods, user permissions and daily monitoring. Check first whether your company's country of registration, your target market and your product category fit the platform's policies. Some platforms accept foreign companies directly, others ask for local documents or route overseas advertisers through official partners, and review times vary by category.
PandaWM / 熊猫出海 is an overseas advertising agency based in Hong Kong. We do not have a local office in the target market. When an account is opened through our agency channel, it is registered under the agency's name, while the client keeps the right to use it, owns the account relationship and owns all advertising data. This is an official channel for opening accounts, not buying, renting or selling accounts, and we do not help anyone get around platform review.
Clients can be mainland Chinese companies going global or companies registered anywhere else. You can choose account opening only and run campaigns in-house, or choose managed delivery where we plan, launch and optimise the campaigns with you. Before starting we agree the scope, who approves creatives, how data access works and what reports look like. Timelines, starting budgets and payment terms depend on the platform, the market and the category, so we confirm them case by case rather than promising a fixed minimum or same-day opening.
30-day test plan for Naver Ads
Days 1–7: prepare a Korean landing page with matching business details, install conversion tracking, research 50–100 Korean keywords with the keyword tool and split them into brand, product and problem groups.
Days 8–14: launch Power Link with a controlled daily budget on PC and mobile separately, two ad texts per group, and check review status every day.
Days 15–21: remove keywords with clicks but no conversions, raise bids only on terms with real enquiries and add Shopping Search if you sell physical products.
Days 22–30: test a small GFA remarketing campaign for site visitors. The outcome should be a short list of Korean keywords and pages that bring paying customers.
Tie measurement to business results
Before launch, decide which business result actually counts. Qualified leads, paid orders, verified sign-ups and active app users are different metrics. Clicks, video views and engagement are early signals, not the goal itself. Set up the platform pixel or SDK, server-side events where available, UTM parameters and a CRM or MMP view, so every report can be traced back to the same definition of success.
Compare like with like: the same period, the same countries and the same attribution window. The platform dashboard and your CRM may disagree because they count differently. Keep media cost, management fees and creative production separate so the full cost is visible. On smaller platforms weekly data is thinner than on Google or Meta, so judge a channel on two to four weeks of data and change one variable at a time. Increase budget only when the cost per real result stays stable at a higher spend.
Frequently asked questions
Are the phrases in the table search volumes?
No. They are advertiser phrases actually seen on Google, not numeric estimates. Real reach is checked when the campaign is set up.
Does the agency guarantee account approval or ad approval?
No. The platform reviews every advertiser, ad and landing page. We help you prepare compliant materials, but approval and performance are never guaranteed.
Who owns the account and the data?
The account opened through our channel sits under the agency name, but the right to use it and all campaign data belong to the client. It is not an account sale or rental.
Can I only open the account and run it myself?
Yes. You can choose account opening only, or managed delivery if you want us to run the campaigns.
