一、什么是 RCS？（不仅仅是短信的升级）

RCS（Rich Communication Services）被业界称为 “短信 2.0”。它是由 GSMA 推出的下一代通信协议，旨在取代已经服役几十年的 SMS（传统短信）和 MMS（彩信）。
核心区别： 传统短信走的是蜂窝信令通道，而 RCS 走的是 IP 数据网络（即 WiFi 或移动流量）。这意味着它具备了类似微信、WhatsApp、iMessage 的现代交互功能。

关于端到端加密（E2EE）的说明： 2026 年 5 月，苹果与 Google 联合宣布，基于 RCS Universal Profile 3.0（MLS 协议）的跨平台端到端加密正式开始推送。升级至 iOS 26.5 的 iPhone 用户与使用最新版 Google Messages 的 Android 用户之间，E2EE 默认开启，对话中会显示锁形图标。需要注意的是，该功能目前仍处于 Beta 阶段，需运营商支持，将分阶段逐步覆盖。因此在对话安全性有较高要求的场景下，建议仍以 Signal 或 WhatsApp 等专用加密通讯工具为主。

二、费用迷思：发 RCS 到底扣不扣钱？

这是很多用户最关心的问题。对于美国号码用户来说，可以从以下三个角度来理解：
1. 不占用短信配额 RCS 消息计入的是”数据流量”，而非套餐内的”短信条数”。只要你有流量或连接了 WiFi，就不会消耗 SMS 额度。当然，套餐本身的月租费用仍然存在。
2. 漫游场景下的优势 对于身在海外（如中国）持有美国号的用户，开启 WiFi Calling 后使用 RCS，可以通过 WiFi 收发短消息，避免产生额外的漫游费用——前提是你已接入可用的 WiFi 网络。
3. 自动回退机制 只有当对方不支持 RCS 时，系统才会自动降级为普通 SMS，此时才会消耗短信额度。这一过程对用户完全透明，无需手动切换。

三、硬件与运营商：谁能支持？

目前，美国主流运营商（AT&T、T-Mobile、Verizon）及其旗下的 MVNO（如 Google Fi、Mint Mobile）已全面支持 RCS。
iPhone 用户： 需升级至 iOS 18 及以上版本，并在”设置 → APP → 信息“中开启”RCS 信息“。如需启用跨平台端到端加密，则需进一步升级至 iOS 26.5，并在”设置 → APP → 信息 → RCS 信息“中确认”端到端加密（Beta）“已开启（默认为开启状态）。加密功能需运营商支持，将分阶段推送。
安卓用户： 强烈建议安装最新版 Google Messages 官方应用，兼容性最强，且支持端到端加密。部分厂商的原生短信应用（如三星 Messages）也已支持 RCS，但功能完整度因版本而异。
